March 9–11: Wildlife Exploration in Bardia National Park

For three full days, travelers experienced the natural wonders of Bardia National Park, a sprawling expanse nestled within the lowland Terai region of Nepal. Their adventure began with immersive jeep safaris, each day promising new encounters and breathtaking scenery.

Traversing through vast grasslands, dense woodlands, and along serene riverbanks, travelers found themselves deep in the diverse habitats that make Bardia National Park a haven for wildlife. With every turn of the jeep, they were greeted by the sights and sounds of nature’s bounty

Among the highlights were sightings of majestic tigers prowling through the tall grass, graceful deer darting through the trees, and playful langurs swinging from branch to branch overhead. The park’s vibrant birdlife added to the spectacle, with colorful plumage and melodious calls filling the air.

As they ventured deeper into the heart of the park, travelers were captivated by the sheer diversity of species that call Bardia home. From elusive predators to delicate butterflies, each encounter served as a reminder of the park’s vital role in preserving Nepal’s rich biodiversity.

Nestled amidst the verdant surroundings of Nepal’s Terai region, the park beckoned with promises of thrilling wildlife encounters and unforgettable adventures.

Venturing into the heart of Chitwan, travelers found themselves immersed in a mosaic of habitats, from the meandering rivers and lush grasslands to the dense sal forests that cloak the landscape. Each corner of the park revealed a new facet of its rich biodiversity, offering glimpses into the lives of its diverse inhabitants.

Amidst the tranquil waters of the Narayani River, travelers embarked on serene boat rides that provided unique perspectives of the park’s vibrant ecosystem. March 15: Trekking Adventure to Majgaon

Embarking on a trekking adventure, travelers flew to Pokhara before ascending to Majgaon at 4,600 feet. Along the way, they were treated to breathtaking views of the Annapurna mountain range and encountered diverse bird species amidst picturesque landscapes. Each step revealed the beauty of the Himalayas and fostered bonds among fellow adventurers, leaving lasting memories of nature’s grandeur.

March 16: Trek to Landruk

Continuing their trek through the rugged terrain of the Himalayas, travelers reached the charming village of Landruk, a hidden gem nestled amidst the towering peaks. As they wandered through the narrow streets lined with traditional stone houses, adorned with colorful prayer flags fluttering in the breeze, they couldn’t help but be enchanted by the serene beauty of their surroundings. March 17: Trek to Ghandruk

They wandered through the village’s winding streets admiring traditional stone houses and interacting with friendly locals. Amidst the tranquil setting, travelers embraced the rich heritage of Ghandruk as they toured a local museum highlighting the history of the town. One last evening with sunset views of Fishtail Mountain cemented memories that would last forever.

March 18: Return to Pokhara

Following a scenic drive to Pokhara, travelers leisurely strolled along the picturesque lakeside soaking in the tranquil atmosphere and taking in the serene beauty of the surroundings. Amidst the lush hotel gardens, travelers indulged in birdwatching, marveling at the colorful avian visitors that flitted among the trees. March 18: Peace Pagoda, Annapurna by Helicopter, and return to Kathmandu

Are you ready to embark on a wildlife adventure like no other? Join us as we explore the incredible world of tigers and other exotic creatures on a thrilling journey through the heart of India’s wilderness during our March 2023 trip to India!

March 21: Arrival in Delhi

Upon arriving in Delhi, either from their preceding Nepal trip or directly from their homes, travelers were met by our local agent who facilitated their transfer from the airport to the hotel. For those who arrived earlier, arrangements were made for divergent airport transfers and additional nights to accommodate any early arrivals, ensuring a seamless transition into the Indian adventure that awaited them.

March 22: Journey to Ranthambhore National Park

The day commenced with a satisfying breakfast at the hotel before travelers embarked on a picturesque train journey to Ranthambhore National Park in Rajasthan. The ride offered glimpses of India’s diverse landscapes as they made their way to the wildlife sanctuary where they would spend the next five days immersing themselves in the natural wonders of the region.

“The tiger viewing was wonderful. We had 22 tiger sightings. But the local Indian guides were totally focused on tiger viewing. On days that they stated that we would spend time looking for other wildlife, we didn’t get much time to do this. As soon as a tiger sighting was reported, the driver would head to the location of the tiger sighting.” -Ken & Mary Campbell

March 23–27: Exploring Ranthambhore National Park

Ranthambhore National Park, celebrated for its thriving tiger population, became the focal point of travelers’ explorations during this leg of the journey. Game drives through the park’s varied terrain presented ample opportunities to observe and appreciate the majestic tigers, as well as an array of other wildlife species including jackals, mongooses, sloth bears, and elusive leopards. Each day brought new adventures and thrilling wildlife encounters, making for unforgettable experiences in the heart of India’s wilderness.

“It was early in the morning and most of the other vehicles had already entered the park ahead of us. We had just entered the park (Ranthambore) and our driver heard a monkey’s alarm call. We looked to the side in the woods and there was a tiger standing there. The driver pulled forward as the tiger came out of the woods and the tiger followed along the road behind our vehicle for an extended period of time. Eventually another 2 vehicles showed up behind the tiger. It was amazing!” -Ken & Mary Campbell

March 28: Journey to Bharatpur and Keoladeo National Park

After bidding farewell to Ranthambhore, travelers embarked on a scenic five-hour drive to Bharatpur, situated adjacent to the renowned World Heritage Site, Keoladeo National Park. Nestled within a 200-year-old former maharaja’s heritage garden, their accommodation provided a charming retreat amidst abundant birdlife and natural splendor. The afternoon was dedicated to exploring the marshes of Keoladeo Ghana National Park, with guided rickshaw rides offering opportunities to observe a diverse range of avian species and indigenous wildlife.

March 29: Wildlife Exploration in Keoladeo National Park and Journey to Agra

The morning dawned with a continuation of wildlife exploration in Keoladeo National Park, where travelers traversed the park’s embankments in rickshaws, encountering an array of birdlife including darters, cormorants, ducks, and eagles. After lunch, the journey continued with a scenic two-hour drive to the historic city of Agra, setting the stage for the next leg of their Indian odyssey.

March 30: Sunrise at the Taj Mahal and Travel to Khajuraho

An early start marked the day as travelers made their way to the iconic Taj Mahal to witness the breathtaking spectacle of sunrise. Amidst the serene ambiance of the dawn hours, they beheld the awe-inspiring beauty of the marble mausoleum, capturing timeless moments against the backdrop of one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Following a late breakfast, travelers boarded a train for a nine-hour journey to Khajuraho, traversing the Indian landscape and anticipating the adventures that awaited them in this historic destination.

March 31: Temple Exploration in Khajuraho and Journey to Bandhavgarh National Park

In Khajuraho, travelers marveled at the architectural splendor of the ancient temples, renowned for their intricate carvings depicting mythological narratives and scenes of human emotion. After a leisurely exploration of the temple complex, they embarked on a scenic five-hour drive to Bandhavgarh National Park, pausing en route to admire the natural beauty of the landscape and indulge in birdwatching along the way.

April 1–4: Wildlife Safari in Bandhavgarh National Park

The ensuing days were dedicated to immersive wildlife safaris in Bandhavgarh National Park, offering travelers the opportunity to traverse the park’s diverse terrain in search of elusive tiger sightings and encounters with other indigenous wildlife species. April 6: Return Journey to Delhi

The journey culminated with travelers transferring to the airport for their return flights to Delhi, marking the conclusion of an unforgettable odyssey filled with cherished memories and unforgettable encounters amidst the untamed beauty of India’s wilderness.

April 7: Homeward Bound

Upon arrival back home, travelers carried with them the indelible impressions of their Indian escapade, reflecting on the diverse landscapes, captivating wildlife, and cultural riches that had defined their journey through the heart of India.
